About Us
We believe that your body possesses infinite wisdom that can ultimately help you to achieve a very high level of health and well-being. Our goal is to assist and support your body in this process. Your comfort and care are always of the utmost concern.
Good health, though, involves more than simply treating a disorder. We believe that the more knowledgeable our patients are, the more active role they can take in their healthcare. At Advanced Medicine, you will gain access to a wealth of information, education, resources, and products that support you on your journey toward taking charge of your own health.
To this end, we believe that recent gains in mind-body medicine (i.e., biobehavioral medicine) offer a wellspring of opportunity for our patients. To maximize your healing potential, we offer individualized lifestyle counseling featuring techniques and strategies that balance immune function and harmonize both mind and body. Of course, the way we think, the way we feel, and the way we respond to stress directly impacts our well-being and affects the way our DNA is expressed. As a result, Dr. Stockdale’s work is integral in achieving health care goals.
Michael G. Milton, M.D
Dr. Milton, dedicated to excellence and the latest advances in medicine, founded Advanced Medicine in Cumming, Georgia in 2000. His goal was to create a unique practice combining the best of the traditional role of the Family Physician, where patients and their families are truly known by the practice, with that of advanced levels of care in Functional and Integrative Medicine.
Deeply interested in how the human body adapts to different environments and worldwide cultural healing traditions, Dr. Milton received his undergraduate degree in anthropology from the University of Georgia. He then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a physician and maintained his unique perspective of holistic healing throughout medical school and residency. He graduated from medical school in 1994 and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He worked as a rural family physician in Thomaston, Georgia prior to opening Advanced Medicine. Dr. Milton has completed training in anti-aging and holistic endocrine therapies, prolotherapy and neural therapy, osteopathic manipulative treatments, environmental medicine, bio-energetic medicine, and extensive nutritional therapies. While practicing the finest preventive medicine possible, Dr. Milton has maintained Board Certification in Family Medicine throughout his career. Dr. Milton continues to value both his conventional and integrative/functional training by maintaining high levels of continuing medical education in both. He welcomes each patient as a personal opportunity for greater learning.
